THE COURSE
The course is designed for students preparing portfolios for admission to third level. It is very suited to Third Level Fine Art, Graphic Design and other Specialist Art courses. The course would also be beneficial to students hoping to pursue a career in Interactive Multi Media.
AIM
The aim of our course is twofold.The first aim is to provide a detailed portfolio.The second aim is to ensure that students have the knowledge and groundwork done which will enable them
to cope with, and benefit fully from, their third level instruction.
WHAT IS A PORTFOLIO?
It is a folder containing samples of your Art and Design work. It is vitally important as its quality is the decisive factor in the offer of a place on a course. A good portfolio can make up for less than brilliant academic qualifications. It should show evidence of commitment to the area for which you are applying.
COURSE CONTENT
Practical: Drawing, Painting, 2D and 3D design, Life drawing, Print making, Soft sculpture
Mixed media, Colour, Creative project, Performance, Textile and fashion studies.
Academic: Art History, Lectures from practising artists, Information on college course content
Course suitability, Entry requirements, Application procedures.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants should take special care in completing the application form as selection for interview will be based on the information given.

Note: Mature students
Formal Academic Qualifications not required
Applicants are required to present a selection of work at interview.
